The main entrance to the General Cemetery is from Canning Circus. The entrance is between Grade II listed Almshouses and was designed by S. S. Rawlinson. The cemetery, as originally proposed, was divided into two, with a separate Dissenters cemetery area. The Cemetery is now owned and managed by Nottingham City Council.
